Aluminized
wire meets and exceeds the specifications of all galvanized chain
link wire. Aluminized Steel is steel wire that has been hot-dip
coated by the continuous method with aluminum-silicon alloy. This
process assures a tight metallurgical bond between the steel wire
and its aluminum coating and produces a material with a unique combination
of properties possessed neither by steel nor by aluminum alone.
Aluminized steel has excellent corrosion resistance and has the
surface characteristics of aluminum with the superior strength and
cost-effective steel substrate. Coating weight on the wire is based
on diameter used:
- 6 gauge (0.192”) and 9 gauge (0.148”)
with 0.40 oz./ft.2 aluminum coating
- 11 gauge (0.120”) with 0.35 oz./ft.2
aluminum coating

- Meets ASTM A491 aluminum coated steel chain
link fence fabric
- Meets AASHTO M-181, Type II
- Meets federal specification RF-F-191/1, Type
II
- FAA Item F-162
