Polyolefin Fences
Therma-Fused Polyolefin is the premier colored chain-link fence in the industry. This protective coating provides superior durability, coating adhesion and UV resistance to other color chain-link offerings. The polyolefin powder used by Iron World™ is pure, containing no fillers, and is specifically formulated to coat galvanized wire, pipe and tubing. If you want your chain-link system to last the test of time while providing an appearance that blends in with the environment, Therma-Fused polyolefin is the only choice.

  • Designed to be a decorative and PROTECTIVE COATING by providing a impervious barrier that does not let moisture through
  • Superior adhesion for extended durability that reduces the chance of damage during product handling and installation
  • Exceptional performance in highly corrosive environments
  • Resistant to ultra violet light preventing fading
  • Polyolefin coating outperforms other coated chain-link products in changing weather conditions by reducing vulnerability to cracking and chipping• Meets ASTM requirements
  • No primer needed, making it more environmentally friendly

Advantages of Therma-Fused Polyolefin vs Extruded and Bonded

  • Extruded wire usually has inconsistent coating thickness due to the difficulty in trying to keep the wire centered
  • PVC pellets used for the extrusion process are not of the same quality as the PVC used for the fused coating, containing more fillers
  • Much of the extruded product in the market does not meet ASTM specifications as the core wire is undersized and does not contain the proper zinc coating
  • Class 1 extruded wire, if cut, will let moisture through resulting in rust
  • Does not have the durability of therma fused polyolefin
  • Class 2a bonded product, at many times, does not comply with the adhesion test especially in cold and warm climates.

Therma-Fused Polyolefin Wire vs Thermally Fused PVC

  • Polyolefin provides a protective coating that is an impervious barrier that does not let moisture through. PVC coatings are considered to be decorative in nature.
  • Polyolefin has tremendous adhesion properties
  • PVC requires the use of a primer allowing for a greater possibility of adhesion failure.
  • PVC powder may contain fillers. The polyolefin powder used by Iron World™ is pure, containing no fillers, and is specially formulated to coat galvanized wire.
  • The polyolefin formulation is designed to handle any out gassing from the zinc coating as a result of heating the wire during the coating process.
